At A Glance:
Critical Mass is a high end raiding guild on the Stormrage server. We run a small, tight knit raid force of between 25 and 30 active raiders. Attendance is generally high and the small pool of committed raiders means you tend to find yourself working with the same folks over subsequent raids, allowing us to easily master content within our chosen raiding schedule. We are looking to bolster our numbers in preparation for the release of the next tier of raid content.
Critical Mass sticks to a four day raid schedule, even at the release of progression content. We raid on Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays from 7pm EST to whenever is necessary (sometimes midnight, earlier when content is on farm). Attendance expectations for active raiders is, for many, close to 100% of the raided hours in a given week.
What We Are Looking For:
As a guild with high aspirations, Critical Mass is looking for the best and the brightest players to boost our ranks. We're looking for people who enjoy playing the game and who are not only looking to raid, but participate in other aspects of the game as well. In each new applicant we look for a few common factors that, we believe, are benchmark characteristics in every solid player.
Applicants must share our common goal. We are not just a guild about defeating the most difficult encounters in the game. We are about making the game fun for each and every member. We work as a team to reach our goals, with the belief that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. When we raid we are working as one well oiled machine, rather than a bunch of people working for their own benefit. If your primary focus in the high-end game is to acquire loot, then we are not the right guild for you. We consider loot to be a byproduct of our goals, which is to progress as a guild, experience "the end game", and have fun while we are doing it. We are looking for players who want to better their gaming experience with a close-knit group of friends.
We want our applicants to be dedicated. Dedicated is coming up to a new encounter and knowing you are willing to come to as many raids as it takes to master the battle. Its not taking the day off because you think you may not get loot but instead being happy for your fellow guildmates when they acquire something because you know it will better your guild as a whole. We take no shortcuts, no matter how daunting consumable costs and repair bills may seem, we press on to victory.
Applicants must be able to listen to all your guildmates ideas on an encounter without demeaning their ideas or insulting their intelligence. You must be willing to try what may seem far-fetched because in the end that could be the winning strategy. We are all teammates and friends and a disrespectful attitude will not be tolerated.
Applicants must be able to attend all 4 scheduled raiding days. These are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. All raid invites go out at 6:45pm EST and get underway at 7pm EST. All raiders should be ready to zone into the instance by the time the raid gets underway.
All new applicants must be able to speak on ventrillo as a requirement of becoming a member of Critical Mass. During a raid you must always be in the same vent channel as the rest of the guild, no exceptions. We don't expect you to be talkative if you do not want to be, but if you are too shy to even respond to simple yes/no questions, do not apply.
The Recruitment Process:
The Critical Mass application process consists of a (roughly) four week application phase, which may be extended during periods of decreased raid activity. The applicant is invited into the guild and given access to our forums, so we can get to know each applicant and be able to make a decision on their membership. After at least four weeks as an Initiate, the applicant is voted on for up to a week and must have less than five no votes to be admitted into the guild. The whole process takes around a month, sometimes a bit longer.
If you are interested in joining and fulfill all the requirements stated above, fill out the following application, and send your application via private message to Charsi or Najeena on the forums. Charsi or Najeena will then contact you in game or on the forums if we're interested.
Note: Even if your class is listed as closed, we encourage you to submit an application anyways. While recruitment for your class might be closed right now, an opening could become available at any time. We will save your application and contact you when we are recruiting for your class again.
The Application:
Please note we take the application process seriously in CM. Think of your application like your resume. The more you put into it the more likely we are to take you seriously. We will look at your spelling and grammar as this is an indication of your interest in joining our guild. CM is a small guild that has very few spots that open up. The more you put in to the application the more likely you are to be the first person we look at when a slot opens.
